Runtime: 28 minFolk-jazz singer/songwriter Cali emerged as one of French pop's biggest new stars when the listening public adopted his 2003 debut single, "C'est Quand le Bonheur?" as an anthem for post-adolescent disillusionment. Born Bruno Calicuri in Perpignan, France, in June 1968, he initially dreamed of a career as a professional rugby player before a 1984 U2 concert shifted his priorities to music. A self-taught guitarist, he soon emerged as a staple of the local live circuit, and after a series of short-lived band affiliations, he joined the group Indy in 1994. After two LPs and more than 200 live dates, Calicuri joined the band Tom Scarlett, issuing a self-financed album to scant attention in 1998. After dissolving the project, he abbreviated his name to Cali, and in collaboration with Tom Scarlett, guitarist Hugo Baretge began a lengthy residency at the Perpignan club Le Mediator.

Live à Saint-Étienne
Runtime: 1 hr 28 minMickey 3d are an award-winning French alternative rock band who made their major-label debut in 2000 and grew increasingly popular over the course of the decade. Founded in 1996 in Saint-Étienne, Rhône-Alpes, the band is comprised of singer/songwriter Mickaël Furnon (guitar), Aurélien Joanin (drums), and Najah el Mahmoud (keyboards). During the late '90s Mickey 3d released a few demo tapes (Le Souffle Court, 1996; Mickey 3d, 1997; L'Amour, 1998) before the band was signed to a recording contract with the independent label Premier Disque and made its label debut with the album Mistigri Torture (1999). Comprised in large part of songs previously released on the band's home-recorded demo tapes, plus some newly recorded studio material, Mistigri Torture was licensed for major-label reissue in 2000 by Virgin Music France, which also signed Mickey 3d to a recording contract and released the song "La France a Peur" as a single. Successive releases on Virgin were increasingly successful: second album La Trêve (2001) marked the band's first appearance on the French albums chart and spawned a few singles; third album Tu Vas Pas Mourir de Rire (2003) reached the Top 20 and spawned the band's first major hit, the Top 20 single "Respire"; the live album Live à Saint-Étienne (2004) also made the Top 20 and spawned a major hit, the Top 40 single "Johnny Rep"; and fourth studio album Matador (2005) was the most successful of all, reaching number three on the albums chart and spawning a series of singles, including the Top 40 title track. In addition to commercial success, Mickey 3d also earned critical accolades, including a Prix Constantin in 2003 and Victoires de la Musique awards in 2004 for Rock Album of the Year, Original Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
VIXI Tour XVII
Runtime: 2 hr 5 minMusically, Thiéfaine draws mostly from classic rock, with rare nods to the latest musical trends, and generally leaves the arranging to a collaborator. His songs are most notable for instantly recognizable lyrics, with their trademarks streams of consciousness, surreal and often extreme or dark imagery, often tinged with comedy, cynicism, literary references, neologisms and liberal use of scientific, long or foreign words.
De L'aube à L'aurore
Runtime: 1 hr 15 minChedid created ‑M- as means of overcoming his shyness on stage and also as a way of distancing his work from that of his father and grandmother. The pseudonym comes from Chedid's first initial but also refers to the similar sounding French word aime, meaning love. The character ‑M- is a superhero, noted for having a playful nature, and recognized for his flamboyant costumes (primarily monochrome suits with slim trousers and long jackets with upward pointed collars) and hair styled into the shape of an M.
-M- gained international exposure through his recording of the song "Belleville Rendez-vous" for the soundtrack of the 2003 Sylvain Chomet animated film The Triplets of Belleville in both French and English. The song, with lyrics by Chomet and music by Benoit Charest, was nominated for a 2003 Academy Award. The music video for "Belleville Rendez-vous" uses both a live-action depiction of ‑M- and an animated depiction incorporated into footage from the film.
