This Atlanta-based group found major mainstream success with their 1992 debut album 3 Years, 5 Months, And 2 Days In The Life Of.... Merging positive, upbeat vibes with intelligent, socio-political lyricism, their infectious brand of friendly Funk sold millions of records and won them two Grammys. Fueled by the hits "Tennessee" and "Mr. Wendel," Arrested Development seemed to have it all. They released a follow-up in 1994, Zingalamaduni, but it didn't match the critical or commercial impact of their first effort. Leader/emcee Speech released a solo album in 1996, and in the ensuing decade the group has reunited for occasional tours and albums like Heroes of the Harvest.
